Mornings with Moose came to me when I decided it was time to do something everyday I enjoy. The only me time I have had had been on Pinterest or Facebook. Pretty sad since I consider them time wasters.
Most mornings after I drop kids off at preschool and school I would walk our dog Moose. Somewhere on the coast, on the bay. Then I started to dream about creating again- artwork. I'm out of practice but I decided to dive back in and carve out an hour a morning for myself. :)
What would I paint?
Then it hit me - I walk moose the dog around some stunning landscapes- my work could focus on my natural surroundings. I could even paint en plein air when the weather is nice enough.
So, with iPhone in hand I started capturing the mood each morning during our walks. It's the only time of day when I am free to think. And touch a piece of me unaffected by mommy life!
I would photograph the landscape each morning. Then practice my skills by painting it later on.
That would only total 2 hours a day but oh what a gift to myself!
So then I needed to figure out what medium? Water color? Acrylics? On paper canvas?
I started to search Pinterest and found a new medium - gouache. More on that later.
So here it is - my attempt to document the return of my creativity! One morning at a time with my sweet dog moose.
